Shift leads participatory investing in the health sector, community-rooted healing and justice initiatives, and community governance strategy and facilitation.
The Institute of Women & Ethnic Studies spearheads a national place-based initiative to advance community-led change in place, activating community power, healing, and accountable partnerships with health systems for health and racial equity.
ANCHORS IN RESILIENT COMMUNITIES
ARC’s work engages local anchor institutions and community-based organizations for collective governance of health, wealth, and climate commitments. ARC tests community-anchor co-design and co-investment in the Bay Area and nationally through Healthcare Without Harm's Place-Based Initiative.
Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency serves as backbone for Healthy Yolo, a multisector initiative promoting thriving communities, leveraging sector leadership and aligning funding resources.
COMMON FUTURE PARTICIPATORY INVESTING LAB
The national Participatory Investing Action Lab co-designed an innovative community-rooted foundation investment model and toolkit for institutional leaders to test participatory investing. The project explored shared decision making for economic justice and wealth-building through democratized shared governance.

NEIGHBORWORKS AMERICA HEALTH AND HOUSING INITIATIVES
NeighborWorks, in partnership with Grounded Solutions Network, is collaborating to bolster training for Shared Equity Housing models across the country. Previous collaboration supported a National Convening on resident-led change at the intersection of health and housing, training for community leaders, and tools for place-based Comprehensive Community Development.
METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION POWER BUILDING AND ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM
The Pb&E program supports community-rooted transportation, climate, and housing initiatives across the Bay Area region through grantee coaching, resources, and participatory design.

The Whole River IMPACT: the Initiative for Measurable Portfolio Action toward Community Transformation supports health conversion foundations in deepening their equity-forward impact investing strategies through coaching, network building, and strategy design.

BARHII convenes health equity leaders from Local Health Departments across California and field-leading efforts nationally to strengthen community-led multisector coalitions and investments into healthy neighborhoods.
